About
Hi, I'm Nick. I fix things with tech.
I've worked in technical roles for eighteen years, mostly on the operations side: sysadmin, site reliability engineering and infrastructure. That's the work of keeping systems running, making them faster and cheaper, and automating the boring parts. I've written a lot of code along the way.
I started cheat code because you shouldn't need a big company's budget, or your own tech team, to get the advantages good technology brings. The tools have never been better. AI in particular has made a huge amount possible for a small team, if someone sets it up properly.
That's what a cheat code is: a legitimate shortcut. Less time on admin and busywork, more time on the work you actually care about.
I'm based in Sydney, NSW and work with businesses all over Australia, remotely or in person. If the right project comes along, I'm happy to travel for it.
Background
Sysadmin
Where I started: keeping servers, networks and the people who rely on them happy.
SRE & infrastructure
Running production systems at scale. Automating everything I had to do twice, and getting woken up as rarely as possible.
Building things
Custom tools, automation and complete products, designed, built and looked after by me from start to finish.
Let's see what we can automate.
